FIELD: radio engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radiolocation and can be used in tracking pulsed radar stations (RS) with an active phased antenna array. Specified technical result is achieved by using a multifrequency operation method presupposing that frequency of a probing signal is changed from beat to beat, while reception of a reflected echo signal is performed at same frequencies during repetition periods corresponding to a distance to the target. At that, the radar station (RS) operates on the basis of a target designation from external detection means or from a secondary information processing device with implementation of a starting point during operation of the specified RS in target search mode. Method is implemented by a device consisting of main and compensation antennas, a probing pulse shaper, a transmitter, receivers of basic and compensation channels, a primary processing device, a secondary processing device and a control circuit with corresponding links.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of time spent on detection of targets and, as a result, increase in the efficiency of the tracking RS tracking while maintaining unambiguity of range measurement.
