FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the industrial valves. The plug assembly has a plug rod with base, a plug head and a mechanism to secure the plug rod base to the plug head. The securing mechanism has two holding clamps surrounding the plug rod base and the plug head, and ensuring shrink fit between them. The method of replacement of securing of the plug head to the plug rod contains the following steps. The plug rod having base is provided. The plug head is provided; the securing mechanism is provided with two holding clamps. The securing mechanism is engaged around the plug rod base and the plug head ensuring shrink fit between the plug head and the plug rod.
EFFECT: invention ensures assemblage and replacement of the worn out plug heads in situ, as well as possibility of use of different materials for the plug head and rod.
