FIELD: protective devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of protection of hollow cylindrical articles, for example pipes and connecting parts of pipelines, from penetration into the interior cavity of moisture, dirt and mechanical damages. Polymer end cap comprises an integral outer cylinder, the inner diameter of which is equal to the outer diameter of the article to be protected and the inner cylinder coaxially located in the cavity of the outer cylinder and having an outer diameter equal to the inner diameter of the article to be protected. In this case, there is an end ring that connects one of the ends of the outer cylinder to one of the ends of the inner cylinder and a base located at the other end of the inner cylinder. Base is a cylinder with a rim on its free end and a plurality of stiffeners converging toward the center of the base to form a central region of the base. Rigidly fixed membrane is provided at the base, and an air valve is provided in the central region. Method for manufacturing such a plug, a method for protecting a hollow cylindrical article by means of such a plug and a protected article with a plug on it are also described.

EFFECT: ensuring full tightness of the internal space of the hollow cylindrical product.
