FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention may be used for manufacturing of electrochemical anode made friction stir welding (FSW). Electrochemical anode includes current-carrying busbar and lead-bearing anode sheet coupled electrically to the current-carrying busbar. Anode sheet is connected to current-carrying busbar by a welded joint made by FSW at least at one side of electrochemical anode. The above joint is placed with recess into the current-carrying busbar and anode sheet in the area of their coupling. The joint may be formed between the current-carrying busbar and anode sheet or between lead shell and anode sheet. FSW-joint may also be angular or butt weld. FSW-joint may be used for sealing of butt ends in electrochemical anodes in order to prevent corrosion.
EFFECT: friction welding provides non-availability of lead fumes at anode manufacturing, it leads to reduced heat-affected zone and change in structure of the anode material.
