METHOD OF COMBINED LASER TREATMENT OF DIABETIC MACULAR OEDEMA Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC A61F9/08 A61N5/67

Abstract RU 2578371 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ophthalmology, and is intended for most effective and safe treatment of diabetic macular oedema. In addition to SMLV threshold laser coagulation with application of coagulates I degree classification L′Esperance is performed in staggered pattern within zone of retinal oedema, excluding foveal avascular zone using continuous radiation with wave length of 577 nm, power of 70-100 mW, pulse duration of 0.07-0.1 s, spot diameter of 100 mcm, with distance between laser coagulates of 100 mcm, and SMLV is carried out with application of laser applicates in Foveal avascular zone in staggered pattern with distance between applicates of 100 mcm, wave length of 577 nm, length of packet of 0.1 s, duration of micro impulse of 100 mcs, pulse ratio of 5%, spot diameter 100 mcm and power of 250-600 mW. In 1 month after laser treatment, if by that date stabilisation of pathological process (higher amount of solid exudate leakage and/or increase in retinal thickness as per OCT data) is not observed, additional session SMLV with previous technical parameters is conducted with application of laser applicates across entire area of retinal oedema.

EFFECT: method helps to reduce thickness of retinal macular area, vascular wall permeability of retina, number and density of solid exudate leakage, achieving stabilisation or increasing of maximum corrected visual acuity.
