METHOD OF TREATING DIFFUSE DIABETIC MACULAR EDEMA USING THE NAVILAS LASER NAVIGATION SYSTEM Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61F9/08

Abstract RU 2768483 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to ophthalmology. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) is performed in 3D Widefield mode. A color photograph of the eye ground is taken on a Navilas laser apparatus. OCT images are superimposed in 3D Widefield mode on a color photograph of an eye ground. A plan of the operation is plotted. Testing is performed on the intact retina within the main vascular arcades, and subthreshold micropulse laser exposure (SMLA) is performed on the entire surface of diabetic macular edema (DME) with wet application of the applicates. Selection of test coagulate is carried out in micropulse subthreshold mode. When performing the SMLA, the power value is differentiated depending on the distance from the foveal zone so that in the first zone, which is a circle with a center in the fovea with diameter of 1 ONH, power value of 30 % of the tested value is used. Further, the exposure zones are successively expanded from the outer boundary of the first zone at distance of 0.5 ONH, and in each next zone the power is increased by 5 % of the power used in the previous zone, thus using power of 35 % in the second zone, in the third zone power is 40 %, and the remaining part of the edematous retina of the macular area outside the specified zones is treated with power of 50 % of the power value determined in the test mode.

EFFECT: method allows to reduce traumatism of laser intervention at simultaneous achievement of high functional result of treatment and to create conditions for improvement of surgeon's convenience.
