SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for reduction of formation of methane, released due to digestive activity of ruminants and/or increase of productivity of ruminant animals due to application as active substance of at least one type of organic molecules, corresponding to certain formula, substituted in any position with at least one nitroxygroup, or salts of said compounds. Said compounds are introduced to animal together with forage. In addition, the invention relates to application of said compounds in forages and forage additives for ruminants.

EFFECT: feeding said compounds to ruminant animals provides reduction of methane formation in the process of digestion and improves productivity of ruminant animals.
