FIELD: medicine; biology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to biology and medicine and can be used for preparing biological sample for analysis using scanning electron microscopy. For this purpose, before contrasting samples are washed in isotonic sodium chloride solution. Isotonic aqueous solution of one of chlorides of rare-earth elements or their mixtures are used as contrast substance. At that, native specimen is subjected to supravital contrasting with exposure from 20 minutes to 6 hours.

EFFECT: during scanning electron microscopy invention enables to observe micro-biological object with satisfactory contrast in secondary electrons and observed structure and ultrastructure of biological tissue subsurface layer with high contrast in back scattered electrons, without preliminary dehydration or fixation, as well as spraying of sample with current-conducting layer.
