FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medical and biological reagents. Lanthanide dye for contrasting biological preparations of tissues and cell suspensions in scanning electron microscopy in back-scattered electrons is combination of 2% aqueous solutions of lutetium triacetate and gadolinium triacetate. Lanthanide dye is used to increase the electronic contrast of biological preparations when incubated for 16 hours at temperature of 23 °C.
EFFECT: disclosed lanthanide dye enables to visualize cell membranes, cell organelles, cell nuclei and extracellular matrix components at high resolution and magnification of up to 50 thousand times.
