FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to military equipment, particularly, to armoured structures to be used individual and vehicle means of protection against bullets and high-energy fragments on the battlefield, in nuclear power industry, etc, as passive protection means. Armour protection substrate is composed of steel with expansion strength σ"в" = 0.64-2.0 GPa and incorporates stiffness ribs made on side abutting on ceramic element. Ceramic element depth makes 1.3-1.8 of substrate depth.
EFFECT: decreased surface density of armour protection.
