SUBSTANCE: in a device (1) for selective control of an AC engine (3) or a DC engine (2) the specified engines are supplied from a DC voltage source (4). The device (1) comprises two converting modules (5, 6) with identical number of half-bridge circuits (7) and the number of bridge levelling modules (14.1, 14.2, 14.3) matching with the number of half-bridge circuits (7) in the converting module (5, 6), and a control unit (12) to control converting modules (5, 6). Converting modules (5, 6) to control the AC engine (3) are put in operation as an inverter, and to control the DC engine (2) are put in operation as a DC voltage converter.

EFFECT: provision of the capability of selective AC or DC engine control.
