FIELD: radio engineering, communication.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to controlling interference in wireless communication networks and more specifically to supporting signalling, associated with the jamming of reference signals (RS) to reduce interference in wireless communication networks which transmit reference signals, e.g., for location measurement. The present invention provides a jamming scheme for reference signal transmissions in the form of an algorithm defined by at least a combination of a jamming sequence and a reference point. Jamming events for a given cell (20) of a wireless communication network are therefore distinguished from another cell by using another jamming sequence, another reference point or both Furthermore, the present invention provides use of a common jamming sequence or reference point on all cells (20), wherein jamming events are distinguished between cells (20) by using different reference points (in case of a common jamming sequence) or using different jamming sequences (in case of a common reference point) or different sequences and different reference points.
EFFECT: easy signalling, which is required to control or denote a jamming scheme used in cells of interest, providing a preferred base for distributing jamming schemes among cells (20), avoiding the need for predefined jamming schemes and the need for blind detection of jamming with wireless communication devices (14), such as UE.
