SUBSTANCE: invention relates to audio decoding. A device for generating a decorrelated signal comprises a receiving unit (650) for receiving phase information, a transient process signal separating unit (310; 410; 510; 610; 710; 910), a transient process decorrelator (320; 420; 520; 620; 720; 920), a second decorrelator (330; 430; 530; 630; 730; 930) and a combining unit (340; 440; 540; 640; 740; 940), the transient process signal separating unit (310; 410; 510; 610; 710; 910) is capable of dividing an input signal into the first and second signal components such that the first signal component contains signal parts of the input signal transient process and the second component contains signal parts without the input signal transient process. The transient process decorrelator (320; 420; 520; 620; 720; 920) is adapted to apply the phase information, received by the receiving unit (650), to the transient process signal component.
EFFECT: avoiding cases when transient signal components have a negative acoustic effect on output signals.
