FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: to increase resistance of pipes to corrosion and increasing service life of heat detecting elements when using such tubes in heat engineering method of increasing corrosion resistance of pipes out of low carbon steel grade 20 includes loading pipe billet with initial temperature of 20-40°C in furnace heated to 910-930°C, holding for 120 s on each mm pipe wall thickness, cooling in air to initial temperature of 20-40°C, repeated loading in furnace heated to 910-930°C and held for 120 s on each mm pipe wall thickness and final cooling in air to final temperature of 20-40°C.
EFFECT: higher corrosion resistance of pipes.
