FIELD: tobacco industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the filter component for a smoking article, which comprises: the front segment of the filter material; the rear segment of the filter material at a distance from the front segment of the filter material so as to form a cavity between them; and a single squashable flavouring capsule located in the cavity. At that the flavouring capsule has the outer diameter which is at least 75% of the gap between the front segment of the filter material and the rear segment of the filter material, and the outer diameter of the flavouring capsule is not greater than the outer diameter of either the front segment or the rear segment of the filter material. The front segment of the filter material has the lowest suction resistance (SR) among the segments of the filter components. The front segment of the filter material, the rear segment of the filter material and the flavouring capsule are surrounded by a filter wrapper, at that one or more rows of perforations is formed through the filter wrapper in the front end part of the filter.
EFFECT: provision of the regulated release of the flavouring during smoking, avoiding of menthol loss.
