SUBSTANCE: invention relates to polymeric insert formed from soluble polymer material, and to a filter and a smoking article comprising such polymeric insert. Smoking article comprises a polymeric insert having a compressibility of less than about 100 N per 1.5 mm and formed of a dissolvable polymeric material, containing one or more water-soluble polymers, wherein wall thickness of polymeric insert varies from 0.2 to 2.0 mm, wherein polymeric insert has such shape and design, that structure o insert is not visible, when insert is placed in a closed container with water at 22 °C for 24 hours without stirring, and amount of water present in container is approximately eight times greater than weight of polymeric insert.
EFFECT: technical result is creation of an insert for a filter of a smoking article, which can easily break or decompose in order to facilitate crushing and decomposition of filter as a whole after throwing away filter, which can easily and quickly decompose in presence of liquid water in a wide temperature range, can easily be made and be introduced into filters of smoking articles using existing devices and methods.
