FIELD: biotechnologies.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the method of diagnosing of bacterial infection of patients with nonspecific complaints comprising the following stages: (i) providing a sample from an organism of the patient hospitalised with nonspecific complaints; (ii) determination of the level of pro-calcitonin (PCT) or its fragment with the length at least 12 amino acids in the named sample and (iii) determination at the named patient of presence or absence of bacterial infection by comparison of the named certain PCT level with the pre-set threshold level. The invention also relates to the use of this method for control of treatment for antibiotic injection to the patient with nonspecific complaints and for use of this method for antibiotic treatment of the patient with nonspecific complaints.
EFFECT: group of inventions allows to minimise subjectivity of classification of patients and to improve efficiency of diagnostics.
