SUBSTANCE: invention relates to pharmaceutical industry, namely to diagnostic technique for bacterial infection of urinary tract in vitro. Diagnostic technique for bacterial infection of urinary tract in vitro in patient with at least one symptom, selected from group, consisting of high temperature or hypothermia, leucocytosis/leucopenia, low back pain and/or dysuria, signs of systemic inflammatory response syndrome, fever of unknown nature, recurrent urinary tract infection, including steps of determining concentration of procalcitonin in urine and plasma samples of above patient, and where ratio between procalcitonin concentration in urine and blood plasma more than 1 is predictor on presence of infection of urinary tract. Use of kit for diagnosing bacterial infections of urinary tract in vitro.

EFFECT: method, described above, enables effective diagnosing of bacterial infection of urinary tract in vitro.
