SUBSTANCE: 3D source device is proposed to provide a three-dimensional video signal for transmission to a 3D destination device. Herewith the 3D video signal contains: the first video information representing the view for viewing with the left eye on the 3D display, the second video information representing the view for viewing with the right eye on the 3D display. Herewith the 3D destination device comprises: a receiving device for receiving a 3D video signal, a stereo converter in depth for forming the first generated depth map based on the first and the second video information.
EFFECT: reducing the depth representation errors due to stereo conversion to depth due to auxiliary depth data.
