FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to plasma electronics and can be used in designing microwave generators based on interaction of electron beams with plasma. Device contains the following components coaxially arranged in a homogeneous magnetic field in the vacuum chamber: annular disc with central hole and with a circular thermionic, tube separator made by size of the central hole and installed on the side of circular thermal cathode, wherein the direction of uniform magnetic field coincides with axis of symmetry, as well as an inductance coil connected with controlled power supply and made with possibility of changing magnetic field intensity in a vacuum chamber to control dimensions of the tubular plasma while tube-separator is made of metal with high conductivity and wall thickness, excluding penetration through the pulse magnetic field of inductance coil.

EFFECT: improved controllability of the device by enabling increase or reduce of crosswise sizes of plasma tube without changing thermal cathode and without impact on high-current electron beam propagating inside the tube-separator.
