SUBSTANCE: local communication group (LCG) is a type of a communication structure which includes device-to-group communication or a network-to-group communication. The device-to-group communication may be one way (e.g., one peer device in the group may send a message to the rest of the users with little feedback) or two way (e.g., each member of the group may have the ability to share content with the rest members of the group). According to the described techniques, a local communication group may interact with an LTE network through an eNodeB, which may use a combination of multicast transmission in a downlink and unicast transmission in an uplink.
