FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, ophthalmology, and can be used for drug introduction into vitreous body of an eyeball. By means of fixation of scleral forceps with straight working ends of an eyeball is fixed behind the conjunctiva and episclera. Preparation is introduced intravitreal and syringe needle is left in an eye cavity. To unclamp the ends of said forceps, fixing an eyeball, transferred to the place of sclera puncture enclosing without pressure syringe needle on the surface conjunctiva. Needle is removed and immediately after extraction from the wound the needle tip is sclera compression-coupled working ends of the forceps to form flat surface with width about 1.5 mm, which is pressed to conjunctiva above scleral wound with insignificant pressure at 30-60 seconds.
EFFECT: method increases efficiency and safety of intravitreal introduction of drugs due to usage of fixation of scleral forceps with straight working ends, which enables to perform sclera compression without using any additional tool, and minimising the time between needle extraction and pressing the wound, which fundamentally for reducing the probability of fluid flow through the wound.
