FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemistry of environment, to analytical chemistry and can be used to determine content of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in an aqueous medium. Method of determining content of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in aqueous solutions involves adding to the analysed aqueous solution and reference aqueous solution containing a known amount of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, preset amount of surfactant, and dynamic sorption of the analysed and reference solutions through sorbents with subsequent drying sorbents at room temperature until constant mass. Herewith obtained after drying sorbents of reference and analysed solutions are exposed to pulsed light source with registration of fluorescence spectra of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, and content of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the analysed solution is determined by comparison of resulted spectra. Film of cellulose diacetate is used as sorbent. Proposed composition comprises polymer powder of cellulose diacetate and solvent in the form of water-acetone mixture, in which acetone is taken in an amount of 95 %, at that 100 ml of the solvent contains 2-5 g of polymer powder.
EFFECT: invention provides high sensitivity of determining content of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in aqueous media by luminescent analysis on a sorbent with improved adsorption properties, as well as by adding solution of different PAH surfactants.
