FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to perinatal neurology. Method includes investigating Galant reflex through irritation of skin near back and along spine and evaluating reflex response of body by bending arc open on side of stimulus. Skin irritation is carried out with point pressing action symmetrically along spine, first on one side and then on other side, sequentially from C₇ to L₅ by paravertebral lines at level of spinous processes. With reflex response to action sequentially at level of all segments of spine on both sides diagnose absence of spinal cord lesions. In absence of a reflex response to an impact on level of one or more segments of spinal cord lesion is diagnosed from both sides at one or several levels. In absence of a reflex response to impact of right or left at level of one or more segments diagnosed asymmetric lesion of spinal cord at one or several levels.

EFFECT: method can improve accuracy of clinical diagnosis, which is achieved due to irritation of skin point-pressure, allowing to determine level and lateralisation lesion of spinal cord segments.
