FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to automotive industry. Method of determining vehicle steering play consists in that controlled wheel is set to position of rectilinear motion. Steering wheel is rotated in turn in both sides on angles corresponding to moments of controlled wheel turn, and fixed by measuring device. To increase accuracy of determining value of steering play steering wheel is rotated in turn in one and another side by angles corresponding to extreme positions of steering control. To avoid errors measurement of play value of is performed at least three times, with exclusion of measurement results coming beyond results of remaining measurements, and average value of steering play is determined.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of measuring steering play.
