FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radiation therapy in oncology. To obtain optimal therapeutic effect in locally advanced breast cancer neutron and photon therapies are combined, where neutron therapy is preceded by photon therapy. Mammary gland is localized using bolus of tissue-equivalent material in form of transparent plates with possibility of changing and fixing distance between them. Further, daily exposure of neutrons dose of 0.2 to 0.4 Gy to total basic dose 2.0 Gy is performed. Then, gamma-radiation with dose of 1.0 to 2.0 Gy per one session to total basic dose of 45-47 Gy is performed.
EFFECT: method provides complete tumour regression in absence of radiation complications due to expansion and optimising modes and doses of combined beam with reduction of radiation exposure while maintaining high efficiency of therapy, including contribution of neutrons in irradiation of 17-30 %.
