FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to experimental instrumental diagnostics, and is intended for diagnostics of non-specific inflammation of muscular tissue in laboratory animals. Photosensitiser is inserted into laboratory animal. Area of muscular tissue examination and corresponding contralateral body area are illuminated with low intensity laser radiation. Intensity of photosensitiser fluorescence radiation is measured on the tissue surface, not less than 5 values in each region. Inflammation intensity index is calculated by formula III = If ir/If clo, where III - index of inflammation intensity, If ir - average value of fluorescence intensity in inflammation region, If clo - average value of fluorescence intensity in collateral region. If III varies from 0.5 to 1.49, there is no inflammation. If III varies from 1.50 to 1.99, inactive inflammatory process is diagnosed. If III varies from 2.00 to 5.50, active inflammatory process is diagnosed.

EFFECT: method enables diagnosing and determining the intensity of inflammatory process in muscular tissue.
