METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF PATHOLOGICAL SCAR FORMATION ACCOMPANYING WOUND HEALING Russian patent published in 2019 - IPC A61B5/00 G01N21/64

Abstract RU 2694009 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to reconstructive surgery, and can be used for prediction of formation of a pathological scar in wound healing. Laser examination by laser fluorescence spectroscopy using a source at wavelength λe=365 nm. Examination is performed for the first time in period from 6th to 9th days and the second time from 17th to 21st day after the operation. Fluorescence intensity values of collagen and elastin If are determined and backscattered radiation intensity Ie value, reduced by light filter in β~103 times. Obtained data are used to define an index of tissue content of collagen and elastin of the surgical wound ηp and intact tissue ηu by known formula. Then indices of tissue content of collagen and elastin μn when performing the n day study and μm, during studies for m days by formula μn(m)pu, where n is the day of the first study in 6–9th postoperative day, am is the day of the second study in 17–21st day period. If value of ratio μnm≤0.35, development of a keloid cicatrix is predicted, at 0.35<μnm<0.6 – developing hypertrophic scar, and if μnm>0.6 predicting formation of normotrophic scar.

EFFECT: method provides a postoperative assessment of skin condition by determining the tissue content of collagen and elastin of the surgical wound and intact tissue.
