FIELD: electronics.
SUBSTANCE: invention is used to diagnose profiles (current density distribution in beam section) of ion and atomic beams in MW quasi-stationary (tens and hundreds of seconds) injectors for plasma heating and current maintenance in thermonuclear plants of tokamak type. Method of measuring profile of stationary MW ion and atomic beams in injectors by measuring relative current density in beam section directed on calorimeter made of two parallel layers of water-cooled tubes in each layer located relative to each other with clearance smaller than tube diameter, and tubes of the second layer are shifted relative to tubes of the first layer by value equal to half of distance between axes of tubes, where relative density of current in beam section is determined by means of current collectors measuring ion-emission electrons formed as a result of ion beam bombardment and atoms of calorimeter tubes, herewith collectors arranged between tubes of the second layer calorimeter are installed in such way that the first layer calorimeter tubes overlap beam falling on them.
EFFECT: technical result - measuring full profile of stationary ion and atomic beams, power density of which is tens of MW/m2.
