FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: irradiation of X-ray luminophors with X-ray imaging devices with a x-ray pulse packet of nanosecond duration, in which the image formation by the X-ray imaging device occurs by recording both the x-ray-converted X-ray radiation directly during exposure to X-rays and the light-weight amount of X-ray diffracted X-ray fluorescence in pauses between X-ray pulses. To generate X-rays, high-voltage pulses of nanosecond duration, a peak power of more than 30 MW in an electron beam, positive polarity, with a repetition rate of up to 15 kHz are used. The pulse repetition rate is determined taking into account the damping duration of the used X-ray fluorescent lamp. The duration of the pause between pulses is no longer than the duration of the decrease in the intensity of the afterglow of the X-ray luminescence to a level not less than 0.1 of the intensity of the glow at the moment of stopping the excitation of the luminescence.
EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of obtaining a high-quality X-ray image while maintaining a given signal-to-noise ratio, reducing the dose of X-rays.
