FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for testing inherent in strength or stiffness hard or super hard material. Invention consists in fact that apparatus includes holder, component, indenter, holder of sensor and acoustic sensor. Holder includes first end and second end opposite first end. At first end first cavity is defined extending in direction of second end. Component is placed in first cavity. Indentor is located near section of component and load is applied to component. Sensor holder comprises top section, lower section and second cavity in it. Upper section is connected to second end. Sensor is located inside second cavity. In some embodiments, device includes rod connected to lower section. Rod has lower acoustic impedance than holder of sensor, providing thereby, possibility of acoustic waves passage through sensor holder and without reflection back to sensor.
EFFECT: technical result is more reliable determination of inherent in strength or stiffness hard or super hard material.
