FIELD: lighting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to novel boron phosphate luminescence materials, activated with ions of rare-earth metals, which can be used in lighting devices for converting near UV-radiation in visible light. Disclosed is boron phosphate luminescence material formula AM1-xRExBP2O8, where A is monovalent alkali metal ion from group comprising Li, Na, K, Rb and Cs; M is ion of bivalent metal from group comprising Ca, Sr, Ba, Be, Mg and Zn; RE is bivalent ion from group comprising rare-earth metals Eu, Sm and Yb, at least one of which acts as activator; 0 < x ≤ 0.2. Luminescent material absorbs radiation in first wavelength range of electromagnetic spectrum from 250 to 420 nm and emits radiation in second wavelength range of electromagnetic spectrum from 400 to 700 nm. Described also is light source, including said boron phosphate luminescence material.
EFFECT: invention provides new luminescence materials with high luminescence intensity.
