FIELD: engine construction.

SUBSTANCE: technical diagnostics of internal combustion engines (ICE) and determination of the technical condition of the cylinder-piston group (CPG) of ICE directly in the process of testing and operation. Identifying incipient defects both on the surfaces of parts of friction pairs and internal hidden defects, reliable determination of the degree of wear and state of the ICE CPG. A method for monitoring the technical condition of the ICE CPG is proposed, including the measurement of vibroacoustic signals and thermal radiation from the ICE elements using vibroacoustic sensors and thermal imaging sensors, synchronization, filtering and signal analysis. At the same time, when cranking the ICE crankshaft (CS) with a starter unit without supplying fuel to the cylinders, they control the parameters of gas pressure in the ICE crankcase space, measure the amplitudes of pressure pulses and their position according to the angle of the CS cranking, register their oscillograms, and assess the leakage of the piston ring seal. The acoustic signal from the built-in microphone is also monitored with the signal passing through a narrow-band low-pass filter up to 50 Hz.

EFFECT: diagnostic data is processed using an integrated diagnostic system based on a wireless mesh network.
