FIELD: lighting.
SUBSTANCE: lighting device includes a light-emitting diode, a unit of converging lenses, on which is incident light from light-emitting diode, and a polarisation conversion element. Lens which forms a light output surface in converging lenses is an aspherical lens having an axially symmetrical shape and section of aspherical shape in cross section plane parallel to optical axis. Light output surface of aspherical lens has a function of collimating and subsequent emission of light emitted from centre light-emitting diode, in a region closer to optical axis, and emitting light so that it converges to optical axis in region, further from optical axis.
EFFECT: technical result is providing uniformity of illumination of polarisation conversion element.
