SUBSTANCE: compact virtual display comprises a device consisting of a plurality of two-dimensional cells which are configured to display an image, a set of polarising reflecting prisms placed behind the said device, a set of magnifying reflecting polarising mirrors placed one behind the other such that their optical axes and axes passing through the said polarising reflecting prisms coincide, a set of modulators with an electric drive for turning the polarisation plane placed between the said polarising reflecting prisms and the said magnifying reflecting polarising mirrors.
EFFECT: reduced size and weight.
