FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for epoxidation of ethylene, which uses highly selective epoxidation catalyst based on silver. Method is carried out in a reactor with a large number of reactor pipes. Pipes are filled with a catalyst. Catalyst layer is brought into contact with material for a period of time (T1) to obtain ethylene oxide. Material contains ethylene, oxygen and organic chloride. Rigid stripping of epoxidation catalyst is then carried out for 2-72 hours (T2). Rigid stripping involves reducing amount of organic chloride added to material by 50-100 %. Catalyst is treated by stripping part chlorides from surface of catalyst by raising reactor temperature by 1-30 °C. After rigid stripping amount of organic chloride added to raw material is increased to level of 80-120 % of initial concentration, and reactor temperature is reduced in range of 5 °C from initial reactor temperature. Described also is a method of producing 1.2-diol ether 1.2-diol, 1.2-carbonate or alkanolamine.
EFFECT: technical result is increasing selectivity of catalyst.
