SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrochemical industry, in particular to production of lead-acid accumulators. A method of manufacturing an electrode of a lead-acid battery comprising electrochemical production of active mass of surface layer of lead current collector comprises conducting electrochemical process using a reversible current to produce active mass of lead current collector surface parameters: 5-10 s positive phase, negative phase 0.5-3.0 s.

EFFECT: reduced thickness of coating of current collector with provision of higher specific electric characteristics of battery, as well as mechanical reliability of coating with surface of lead of current collector.
