FIELD: electrical engineering; lead-acid battery manufacture.

SUBSTANCE: proposed current lead for lead-acid battery electrode characterized in enhanced performance characteristics and uniformity of current and voltage distribution through electrode height that affords high reliability and corrosion resistance of electrode at high specific power is essentially wire net made of permanent-section horizontal and vertical wires disposed within permanent-section frame. Top part of frame has lug that functions to assemble electrodes into block; number of vertical wires is greater by 1.6 - 2.4 times than that of horizontal wires. Distribution of horizontal wires is characterized by compaction toward bottom part of wire net; disposition of some horizontal wires in bottom part of net corresponds to that of bottom part of frame for smaller-size current leads and width of these horizontal wires is not less than that of bottom part of frame of respective current leads; junctions between horizontal and vertical wires are rounded of at angle of 0.40 - 2.00 mm.

EFFECT: enhanced productivity, reduced cost of current lead and battery, as well as enhanced their reliability and specific power capacity.
