FIELD: weapons and ammunition.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ammunition, namely, to quick-firing rounds and methods of firing with them. Quick-firing round comprises a shell with a shank, a cartridge with a percussion primer, igniter and propellant charge, a chamber and a pusher. Chamber is located in the central channel and is attached to the shell bottom. Located in the shank of the shell there is an initiator of the igniter with a launch device. Pusher is made in the form of a piston with ring seals contacting with the chamber inner surface. In axial direction, the piston contacts with shell shank. In the chamber, on the side facing the shell shank, there is a installed a piston trap with a holder. Igniter initiator launch device is made in the form of an inertial load. Method of shooting from a cannon by quick-firing rounds includes actuation of a percussion primer, initiation of the igniter and propellant charge, displacement of the shell, biting into the shell and reduction of its obturating band in the artillery tube and further projection of the shell from a tube. Initiation of the igniter and propellant charge is performed after displacement of the shell and biting into its obturating band in the tube. Shell displacement and biting into its obturating band is ensured by action of powder gases.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of fire.
