SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to automotive industry. Device for acoustic testing of vehicle for external action of rain consists of an acoustic chamber, a stand with chassis dynamometers, test vehicle and installation for applying external action. Installation consists of two height-adjustable telescopic posts connected at vertices by horizontal beam. U-shaped bracket is movably mounted on base of beam. Roller is rotatably mounted inside U-shaped bracket. Outer surface of roller is equipped with rows of freely hanged polypropylene threads with spherical bulges on ends. Method for acoustic tests on vehicle for external action of rain comprises steps on which vehicle is installed between telescopic posts. Impact action is applied on surface of test vehicle by means of polypropylene threads. Roller rotation speed is selected from values corresponding by noise characteristics thereof to intensity of simulated rain in range of 0.25 to 100 mm/h.
EFFECT: brorader functionality of testing vehicle vibroacoustics.
