FIELD: ceramic industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of porous ceramic material and is intended for production of artificial implants of bone tissue. Disclosed is a method of producing porous ceramic material based on zirconium dioxide, involving preparation of a thermoplastic mixture of disperse powder of zirconium dioxide stabilised 5 wt% MgO, blowing agent and a plasticiser with subsequent moulding and heat treatment. Heat treatment includes preliminary annealing with uniform heating to temperature 250±5 °C and holding for 3 hours and final annealing with uniform heating to temperature 1,650±5 °C and holding for 1 hour. Blowing agent used is powdered magnesium carbonate, aluminium hydroxide as a plasticiser-paraffin, wax in following proportions, wt%: MgCO3 10-12, Al(OH)3 5-10, paraffin 10-20, wax 1-3, powder ZrO2 (5 wt% MgO) - balance. Used powder ZrO2 comprises phase with tetragonal crystalline lattice of not less than 75 %. Prior to preparing a thermoplastic mixture, stabilised zirconium dioxide powder is activated to obtain powder with average particle size not greater than 0.5 mcm; maximum particle size of not more than 1.0 mcm and shape close to spherical.
EFFECT: technical result is production of ceramic material with improved operational characteristics: porosity of not less than 40 %, and ultimate compression strength of not less than 500 MPa and bimodal distribution of porosity, similar to natural bone.
