FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electrolytic extraction of element from corresponding feedstock oxide. Feedstock compound is dissolved in an oxide melt in contact with a cathode and an anode in an electrolytic cell. During electrolysis target element is deposited at a liquid cathode and coalesces therewith. Oxygen is evolved on an anode bearing a solid oxide layer, in contact with the oxide melt, over a metallic anode substrate. Device for electrolytic extraction of said element from feedstock oxide is provided for carrying out said method.
EFFECT: technical result consists in extracting elements without using carbon when producing elements of high purity.
