FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: anode is made of alloy containing preferably 64-66 wt % Ni, 25-27 wt % Fe, 7-9 wt % Mn, 0-0.7 wt % Cu and 0.4-0.6 wt % Si. Weight ratio of Ni/Fe is in the range of 2.1 to 2.89, preferably 2.3 to 2.6, weight ratio of Ni/(Ni + Cu) is more than 0.98, weight ratio of Cu/Ni is less than 0.01, and weight ratio of Mn/Ni is 0.09 to 0.15. Alloy surface can contain nickel ferrite obtained by preliminary alloy oxidation. The alloy, unnecessarily with pre-oxidised surface, can be covered with external coating containing CoO cobalt oxide. Also, an electrolysis unit and a method for obtaining aluminium in the electrolysis unit is described.

EFFECT: providing the possibility of operation at high anodic current densities.
