Cartridge assembly for mounting with an option of removal a dispenser for dispensing a dental material comprising a cartridge that contains a dental material. Cartridge has a dispensing opening for the dental material, and comprises a lead screw and piston with saddle for forming a screw connection with the lead screw to move the piston to drive dental material to the dispensing orifice. Cartridge assembly also includes a coupling for connecting the screw shaft and the actuator of the metering device to drive the lead screw. Cartridge assembly includes a first operator interface that allows for manual control of the cartridge assembly and the second operator interface, allowing to carry out mechanical control of the cartridge assembly.
