FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to controlled drives to control energy conversion into mechanical energy of movement of working element and can be used in machine building, robotic engineering, medicine for creation of hydraulic and pneumatic drives operated by gas or liquid. Invention provides creation of excess pressure of working medium in toroidal sealed inextensible chamber with ring-shaped end surfaces, enclosing rod and connected to housing side surface, and control of direction of movement of stem relative to body. At that, displacement direction and value of stem stroke are controlled by changing effective area of at least one annular end surface of chamber. At that, effective area of chamber surface is changed by means of force impact on chamber end surface with change of area of its inner or outer rings. It is also possible to change pressure in chamber by changing chamber volume.
EFFECT: expanded operating performances of chamber drive by controlling effective area of chamber end surfaces.
