SUBSTANCE: invention consists in obtaining segmented volume which characterises the pore space and at least one solid phase; outputting average value of <P1> property of the first target function P1 for the entire segmented volume; calculating the mean-square deviation σVOL relative to the average value of <P1> property for the entire segmented volume; determining a plurality of sub-volumes in volume; calculating the mean-square deviation σi value P of the first target function P1 property relative to the average value of <P1> property for each of the abovementioned sub-volumes; defining all representative sub-volumes-candidates for which the mean-square deviation σi satisfactorily corresponds to σVOL; selecting and storing representative sub-volume from the candidates; and using the representative sub-volume to obtain at least one desired value of property.
EFFECT: possibility to increase validity of estimation of representative digital volume of sub-model corresponding to the model of porous media.
