SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for evaluation of bulk density of rock samples or cores. Invention consists thatmethod of estimating bulk density of at least one target object comprises steps of: scanning two or more reference objects with known bulk density and three or more calibration objects with known bulk density and effective atomic number; obtaining functional relationship between error bulk density and effective atomic number using scanning values of reference objects and calibration objects; scanning target object and calibration objects; obtaining uncorrected density and effective atomic number for target object; obtaining correction of bulk density using functional relationship between error bulk density and effective atomic number of reference objects and effective atomic number for target object and obtaining corrected volume density using corrections bulk density.

EFFECT: high accuracy of determining bulk density of object.
