SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of video images and, in particular to a method and a device for decoding video images. Disclosed is a method of decoding video images, containing: extraction of first information in a bit stream; determination of internal prediction mode colour components according to first information, when internal prediction mode colour components can be determined according to first information, extraction of second information in a bit stream; and determining internal prediction mode colour components according to second information, where first information includes information for indicating whether an internal prediction mode colour components DM mode or LM mode, second information used to indicate remained mode of internal prediction mode of colour components, and remaining mode is one of available internal prediction modes colour components, other than mode which can be determined according to first information.
EFFECT: reduced complexity of decoding video images and high efficiency of decoding.
