SUBSTANCE: invention relates to driver device (50a-50j) and corresponding method of excitation for excitation of load (22), in particular, LED unit. Result is achieved by fact that driver device comprises power input terminals (51, 52) for reception of rectified voltage from external power supply, output power terminals (53, 54) for output of voltage and/or excitation current for excitation of load (22), half-bridge unit (70), having first (60) and second (61) switches connected in series between high voltage assembly (57) and low voltage unit (58) and having switching assembly (59) between said first and second switching elements, step-up input filter unit (71) containing first inductance coil (L1) connected between said input power terminals (51, 52) and said half-bridge unit (70), support output filter unit (72) containing second inductance coil (L2) connected between above half-bridge unit (70) and output power terminal (53, 54), power accumulation unit (73) and unit (64) for controlling of said switching elements (60, 61).
EFFECT: technical result is providing driver with high efficiency factor, which can be used for wide range of supply voltage and load excitation, in particular, LED unit.
