FIELD: optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser engineering. Laser for emitting radiation in visible range includes a resonator placed in an anisotropic crystal doped with rare-earth elements containing 5d-4f transition. Crystal (2; 202) is formed so that it comprises a special axis of indicatrix. Sum of cross section of stimulated emission in visible wavelength range to 5d-4f transition of rare earth dopant in relation to a particular indicatrix axis, and absorption cross section of excited state in visible wavelength range in respect of same specific indicatrix axis is positive, while cross section of stimulated emission identified with a positive sign, and absorption cross section of excited state is identified with a negative sign.
EFFECT: technical result is enabling reduction of requirements for accuracy of pumping radiation wavelength.
